Troubleshooting · Sign-in problems

Can't sign in

Most sign-in failures are one of four things: the wrong address, a Google account entered as email, a mistyped password, or too many attempts in a row. Here's what each message means and what to do.

  • "User not found." No account uses that email. Try the address you'd have used at the time, or Continue with Google if you signed up that way. If you're sure it existed, it may have been deleted; deletion is permanent.
  • "Invalid password." Check caps lock, then use Forgot password. If you only ever signed in with Google, there is no password; use Continue with Google.
  • Too many attempts. After repeated failures sign-in is paused for a while to protect the account. Wait a few minutes, or reset the password (the reset link works during the pause).
  • Google sign-in bounces back without signing in. A pop-up or tracking blocker is usually stopping the redirect. Allow storytribe.com in the blocker, or try another browser. Brave needs shields lowered for the site.
  • It signs in, then immediately signs out or reloads. Third-party cookies or site data are blocked. Allow them for storytribe.com, or clear the site's data and sign in again.
