A script editor that thinks in shots
Write like a screenwriter and storyboard as you go: scene headings and speakers format themselves, every line belongs to a shot, and the same script follows you across the board, the canvas and your exports. Import from Final Draft or Fountain, and leave the same way.
Just type; it formats itself
Scene headings and character names go uppercase on their own, dialogue indents itself, and the page reads like a screenplay everywhere it appears. Press Tab to start a line of dialogue, and the / menu drops in captions, production notes and lyrics.
Speakers that know your cast
Type a character's name to begin their dialogue and it becomes a speaker chip linked to your cast. Link one line and StoryTribe offers to connect every other line that character speaks across the project. @ mentions pull in characters, locations and props; # points at a scene or shot.
Write beside your shots
The same script lives in the Script view, in the canvas side panel and under every frame on the board, and an edit in one place shows in all of them. Split a shot at the cursor with one shortcut, drag lines to restructure, and style words with bold, italics, colour and highlight that survive into your exports.
In and out of your other tools
Import a script from Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain, Word or plain text, review exactly how it maps to scenes and shots before anything is created, and export back to any of them, or to a formatted screenplay PDF. A Final Draft round-trip can keep your shot breakdown intact, and the editor writes happily in any language, Korean, Japanese and Chinese included.
