I Messed Up 🫣, But Yunmie Saved the Day: A Lesson in Teamwork and Timing!

Today was supposed to be a big day for StoryTribe, as we were scheduled to speak at 'The UX Conference' in London. However, due to some unfortunate traffic delays, I missed our speaking slot.

That's where Yunmie Kim stepped in. We had prepped the night before, going over our slides and main talking points. Despite my absence and her own nerves, Yunmie took the stage and absolutely nailed the presentation.

When I finally arrived, I found her surrounded by enthusiastic attendees. They were all praising her talk and intrigued by StoryTribe's features.

Somewhat awkwardly, I introduced myself as the "David that missed it."

It's worth noting that Yunmie had flown in from Australia for this, while I just had to manage a relatively short drive. The contrast didn't go unnoticed.

The audience was not only impressed by Yunmie's talk but also by StoryTribe itself. We received promising inquiries from individuals and companies interested in integrating our tool into their workflow. The day even saw a surge in sales of our beta version.

Yunmie was undoubtedly the star, charming the audience and making an unexpected situation work in our favour. We're now planning an online version of the presentation, so stay tuned for that.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the day was meeting Yunmie in person for the first time. We've been working together virtually for over a year, and it felt like meeting an old friend.

So, even though I missed our talk, the day turned out to be an incredible validation of both our partnership and the product we're building.
