McCain Seals Obama’s Fate with Veep Pick Palin

August 29, 2008
Politics

By selecting a fresh young face from the Republican party, Alaska Governor since 2006, Sarah Palin, John McCain has all but sealed the deal on being elected the next President of the United States. With Obama slipping in the polls, a jaded left-wing base due to consistent about-face policies since the primaries, and an even more confused liberal constituency after declining to put Hillary Clinton in the back seat of the POTUS “dream team,” the McCain campaign has lined up to be the real party of change by selecting a woman for the position of Vice President - the first time a woman has ever been nominated for a real chance at winning.

The pick reinforces McCain’s stance as a “maverick” in political realms, as Palin has often stood out from the Republican crowd and refused to toe in for the sake of party unity — a quality which appeals to both younger voters and independents. Selecting Palin also essentially cinches women’s votes across the country, since an aging McCain would leave a highly capable and idealistic woman in the most powerful political position on the globe were McCain unable to fulfill a four-year term. Another key positive to a McCain-Palin ticket is that Palin provides a fresh, young, beautiful face to an otherwise aged “look” — something the Obama camp has held a monopoly on, until now.

With Obama’s jaded liberal base and gaped-jaw leftist observers still stunned over the realization that Obama’s brand of change seems to be little more than rhetoric after months of policy flip-flops and a mired-in-Washington Biden selection for V.P., the McCain campaign has brilliantly solidified the slippery slope of media favoritism and side-stepped the snowball rolling faster and faster down the media mountain.

While independents have never much cared for either party, this move paves the way for real change in American politics, brought to you by the Republicans. Who would have thought?

Entire Year of Biden History Removed from Wikipedia Since Pick

h/t to Tom Blumer at NewsBusters for pointing this out and having the foresight to cache Wikipedia’s page prior to the Senator’s selection for Obama’s V.P.

Among the information that has been removed, is a section on 2004 which accurately noted that Biden discouraged his own nomination for John Kerry’s V.P. in favor of … *drumroll* … John McCain. Check out the article over at NewsBusters.

In an effort to match the Old Media’s bated breath over the fact that Obama still hasn’t announced his Vice Presidential pick…

McCain still hasn’t announced a V.P. pick either… where are those stories?

Florida Gearing Up for 2008 Election Mayhem

August 13, 2008
Law, Politics

Special interest groups such as Florida’s League of Women Voters and AFL-CIO chapter were recently dealt a heavy blow in their efforts to find new and creative ways in which to skew and blur election results for the 2008 election cycle. According to a press release from Florida’s Department of State, on August 6, 2008, Federal Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga in Miami upheld a Florida law which had been challenged by the League of Women Voters and AFL-CIO. These groups challenged that the law’s requirement that voter registration applications collected by such groups be submitted within ten days of collection and by applicable registration deadlines was unconstitutional.

The challenge was brought after fines were imposed on the groups following the 2004 election cycle in which the groups failed to submit collected voter registration applications on time, by associated deadlines, or in some cases failed to submit them altogether. The decision reinforces the strict regulation of groups who organize to act as voter registration agents by requiring them to perform these activities in an ethical manner, or face stiff civil penalties and possible criminal penalties.

Florida’s Secretary of State, Kurt S. Browning said the law will be implemented in the near future, as soon as implementing rules from the courts are in place. According to Browning,

Every voter registration applicant who completes an application and entrusts it to somebody else should fully expect that the application will promptly reach election officials so that the applicant may be registered and eligible to vote. This law does just that and protects the right to vote of all Floridians.
