Chicago’s Finest Intentionally Walking in Front of Oncoming Traffic

We love America’s police officers! However, just like any government agency, there need to be some checks and balances, or we end up with stories like these.

In one of the more unusual “sting” operations enacted by overzealous law enforcement agencies, officers in Chicago are essentially entrapping motorists by sending undercover police officers into oncoming traffic. When motorists don’t react just right, other officers pull them over and advise the confused motorists about what just happened - that they violated a law. The report doesn’t say if motorists are advised that police are intentionally walking out in front of them in order for them to break this law.

As one motorist said, “It was too late for me to get on the brakes.” Also according to the National Highway Traffice and Safety Administration, pedestrian deaths have been on an overall decline since 1995. Aren’t Chicago’s tax dollars more wisely spent in other areas than this?
