Crosshair Sight TargetYes, that headline is right. Your tax dollars are hard at work trying to sell off 50,000 acres of Federal Land south of Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, $50 million has been allocated just to build a recreational shooting range. Don’t worry, though. The government says that the program “has been fairly well run.”

Isn’t there some contractor out there willing to invest in a subsidized maximum security prison? After all, more than $5 billion of your tax dollars is being spent on prison operations every year. Why not take some of the most notorious criminals we have, like repeat child molesters and such, stop providing them with free food, medical care and cable TV, and ship them out to the desert south of Vegas? Then, that $50 million shooting range could be put to good use.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
